We realize that patients seeking cosmetic procedures have, at some point, thought to themselves, “I’m not confident in my smile.” As the centerpiece of the face, the smile is how we signal to the world how we are feeling. It is one of the major ways we meet new people and connect with others. All of the best moments in one’s life are accompanied by your smile.
All too often, we hear that people are afraid to laugh their heartiest laugh or grin from ear to ear because they are concerned about showing their teeth. And when your smile is detracting from your enjoyment of everyday life, it is a sure sign it is time to do something about it.
At Peggy Bown Dentistry, we don’t just aim to give you nicer teeth; we want to give you a customized smile that is natural and enhances your confidence. The reason we are so passionate about what we do is that we know the profound impact a more confident smile can have on a person’s life. After being in treatment, we’ve had patients go for jobs they’d never dreamed of applying for because they no longer feel self-conscious. This is why the term “cosmetic dentistry” doesn’t even begin to cover the true essence of what we do.
It’s not just ‘cosmetic dentistry’, it’s confidence-building dentistry
What that means to you is very personal. Every patient has different concerns and insecurities. Some worry about the alignment of their teeth, while others are simply concerned with one tooth that doesn’t match the others. It doesn’t matter how big or small your concern may be. If it bothers you, then it is worth doing something about.
Not every patient is the same. So why should you be treated the same? That is why we offer a variety of procedures that vary in time and cost: so that we can find the right solution for you.
Diet and other factors can cause the teeth to become discolored over time. It happens to everyone but is often one of the greatest concerns we hear about. We offer customized take-home solutions for both sensitive and normal teeth. Some of you may be thinking that you’ve tried these treatments and yet your teeth are still resistant to change. That doesn’t mean nothing can be done. If a tooth is resistant to change by regular bleaching methods, it can mean that the discoloration is from the inside of the tooth. For that, we offer an internal bleaching service that whitens the tooth from the inside. There are many options for you to obtain the healthy white glow you’ve always wanted.
Crooked teeth and misaligned “bite” are common culprits when it comes to insecurities. We offer Invisalign® clear aligner therapy, which not only corrects the alignment of the teeth but often patients have issues like chronic headaches and jaw pain disappear after entering treatment. Misaligned teeth can cause more problems than most realize and are worth getting a consult about. This is the longest treatment process we offer as the teeth have to be slowly moved into their new positions, but it often makes our patients the happiest with the outcome.
Direct bonding is a term used to describe a viscous material in the same shade as your tooth that can be applied directly to the tooth and shaped. The material is then hardened with a curing light, so it stays in place. This treatment is ideal when some teeth are noticeably shorter or smaller than others.
This term refers to procedures such as veneers and crowns. These are porcelain laminates that are designed in a lab using scans of your teeth to precisely match the space required. These are ideal when the original tooth is still healthy, but not aesthetically right. They are often used to fill gaps between teeth or to correct chipped teeth.
This surgical procedure is done when there are teeth missing or need to be extracted because they are unhealthy. The implant is inserted into the bone and mimics the root of a tooth. A crown can then be placed on top of the implant to act like a real tooth. One of the greatest myths about implants is that they are painful. In fact, the body accepts the implant as if it was meant to be there, and pain is rarely associated with its placement. Depending on your specific case, this procedure, along with the placement of the crown, may be able to be done in one day.
A person’s smile is as unique as their personality. We want you to be able to look in the mirror and still see yourself looking back. But hopefully, this time when you look, your smile will be a little bit wider. Our greatest interest is that you are happy and confident in yourself and your new smile. Whatever your concerns, whatever the course of treatment, we promise to always make you a part of the conversation. We promise to treat you as a whole person, and not just another set of teeth.
