For Grand Manan patients: Due to the demand for services and the limited time available, please call the 506.634.6000 to get added to our waitlist. We are prioritizing patients based on severity of need, mobility and ability to leave the island, and order in which patients are place on the waitlist. The hygienists at Simply White Smiles work closely with our team, so routine exams can be completed virtually through visits for hygiene with them. This is a great way to get assessed quickly and find out what work needs to be booked with our team.

Yes we do! The CDCP has been a rewarding offering as we have been able to serve many patients who have not seen a dentist in many years. However it is worth mentioning that this plan never covers 100% of our fees, so you will have a copay at your visit. Your first visit will likely range form $40-$150 depending on what level of coverage you have, and how many records are needed to assess your oral health. Before any further work is completed, we can give you a pre-determination so that you know what to expect. 

The CDCP plan is now available to all ages for individuals whose household income falls below $90,000. To be evaluated, you must have filed your taxes for the current year, and then you can apply. For more information and to apply, click here. Please note that you must reapply every year following your tax filing in order to maintain your coverage. A lapse in coverage could result in uncovered treatment.

Luxe Dental Group now direct bills to dental insurance companies! This means that you are only responsible for your copay. For many insurance companies, electronic pre-determinations will be available for any treatment you may require with Bluecross being a notable exception (pre-determinations can take 2-4 weeks to hear back from). This service isn’t available until your first appointment is complete.

At our office, we customize the frequency of these services to your specific needs, however the majority of patients are recommended a cleaning every 6 months and a check-up once per year. With the help of your dentist and hygienist, we will determine an interval that works best for your oral health needs.

Invisalign clear aligners are the gold standard in orthodontic treatment. With technology advancements, we have completely eliminated straight wire braces from our practice. Clear aligners are faster, more predictable and more comfortable. There are no required changes to your diet and are hard to see unless you are looking! This means less interruption to your daily life, especially considering our remote monitoring service that eliminates frequent visits to our office. All of this and the cost is still comporable to braces with most cases ranging from $5800-$7500, with most patients paying around $6800. We also offer flexible payment plans with 0% interest up to 24 months, so you can receive the treatment you need without breaking the bank.

Dental anxiety is extremely common and our goal is to help patients overcome these fears. While we do offer nitrous and hospital sedation, we often find that many patients have never had a dental experience like we offer. With education, communication and compassion, many of our patients have completely overcome their past fears of the dentist and can actually look forward to their next visit.

A team member monitors our email reception@smilesbybown.com after hours. This is the best way to get in touch. For existing patients, we will do what we can to get you through the weekend. For new patients, we do require an initial visit to make any treatment recommendations, but we work hard to offer appointments in a timely manner when dealing with emergencies.

We are located in Saint John at 374 Rothesay Avenue, E2J 2C4 and in Grand Manan at Coast Health 1191 Route 776, E5G 1G23. Both locations have free parking.

We have 2 types of financing options:

1. For orthodontics we offer 24month in-house payment plans with 0% interest. You can pay off your account at any time.
2. For other services we are partnered with Fairstone Financing and have a few interest free options up to 24 months, as well as longer term payment plans starting at 12.99%.
